Crusoe Energy and Lancium Join Forces for Massive AI Data Center

Jul 18 Tech Standard

Crusoe Energy, known for using wasted natural gas to power Bitcoin mining, announced a huge partnership with Lancium to build a massive artificial intelligence data center in Texas. This multibillion-dollar project is just the start of a larger plan to create a 1.2-gigawatt data center campus capable of handling enormous AI workloads.

The new data center will be home to some of the world’s largest clusters of powerful GPUs, designed to accelerate breakthroughs in AI. Crusoe’s CEO Chase Lochmiller is excited about this project, believing it will be a game-changer for the AI industry. The data center is expected to start operating in 2025.

Crusoe, founded in 2018, has been at the forefront of using sustainable energy for Bitcoin mining. The company raised a significant amount of money in 2022 to support its growth and innovative approach. This new partnership with Lancium marks another major step forward for Crusoe and the broader AI landscape.
