Indian farmers protesting for higher crop prices have agreed to put their march to New Delhi on hold until further discussions with government officials. This development comes after a positive meeting between farmer representatives and ministers on Thursday.

Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda described the talks as "positive" and expressed hope for a peaceful resolution. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal confirmed the postponement, stating that continuing the march would hinder further dialogue.

The "Delhi Chalo" march, launched earlier this week, aimed to pressure the government for guaranteed minimum prices for crops. However, clashes erupted with security forces who stopped the march around 200 kilometers from the capital. Tragically, a 63-year-old farmer participating in the protest passed away on Friday.
