Michael Saylor Preaches the Bitcoin Gospel

Aug 02 Tech Standard

Michael Saylor, the co-founder and chairman of MicroStrategy, recently delivered a powerful speech to Bitcoiners at an event in Nashville, Tennessee. His presentation, described as his most comprehensive on Bitcoin to date, dissected the digital asset's journey and its economic impact.

Saylor, a true Bitcoin evangelist, preached the advantages of digital assets as a superior form of capital preservation compared to traditional financial assets. He argued that high inflation rates have eroded investor confidence in traditional methods of preserving wealth. Additionally, the high costs associated with maintaining these assets and their tendency to depreciate over time make them unattractive investments.

While alternatives like silver, gold, and land might seem appealing, Saylor highlights their limited lifespans, averaging between 22 and 90 years. In contrast, Bitcoin boasts a minimum lifespan of 1,000 years. According to Saylor, this intrinsic value stems from Bitcoin's digital nature, making it immune to the physical forces that degrade traditional assets.

Saylor advises Bitcoin investors to prioritize the digital currency for wealth preservation, but with a cautionary note: "If you will be rich, trade wisely." A long-time Bitcoin bull, Saylor recently predicted a base case price of $13 million per Bitcoin by 2045. Analysts believe this prediction reflects MicroStrategy's long-term accumulation strategy.
