XRP Ledger Faces Troubled Waters, TVL Plummets

Aug 21 Tech Standard

XRP Ledger (XRPL) appears to be in a challenging position as the latest Total Volume Locked (TVL) figures indicate a decline. According to DeFiLlama, XRPL's TVL has dropped to $269,887, the lowest level since April. This marks a significant decrease from the $1.94 million peak on April 11.

TVL, the total value of assets staked or locked in a protocol, is a crucial indicator of a project's performance. A higher TVL suggests investor confidence and success. XRPL's recent decline indicates a lack of investor interest, which is reflected in its price and market volume.

Compared to other blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, Tron, and Base, XRPL's low TVL is evident. These chains have TVL values in the billions, showcasing where investors have been focusing.

Despite these setbacks, Ripple's Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, has mentioned efforts to integrate XRP Ledger's technical and financial features into their own business. It remains to be seen if these initiatives can help turn around XRPL's fortunes and attract more investors.
